Twilite Prairieblues is another of the wide array of Baptisia plants developed by Dr. Ault at the Chicago Botanical Gardens. The deep purple flower buds are startling accented by brilliant yellow keels and edges, then open to a dusty violet-purple. Blooming a little later than many varieties, this Wild Indigo needs plenty of room to grow, being a pretty large selection when compared to others. In fact, a 3 year old plant can have over 100 flowering stalks, and they are also known to attract butterflies. Very robust, this heat-tolerant False Indigo has bluish-medium-green foliage that is a pleasing background to brightly colored foliage plants or to other flowering perennials and annuals in your landscape. Commonly called: Wild indigo, False indigo.
Companion Planting: Euphorbia, Rudbeckia, Saliva
