Plant Features

Conaco Orange Belgian Mum® Plants bear mounds of large, brilliant orange blossoms with intense, richly-colored centers. In the south, it will offer a slight yellow tone. Starts blooming Mid September in the North and Late September in the South. Belgian mums are prized for their large number of flower buds, sometimes as many as 1000 per plant. They are tough and resistant to damage, and do not need pinching or staking.

Planting Instructions:

- Can be planted anytime the soil temps are 60F

Soil Preparation:

- Ideal soil pH: 6.0-7.0, prefers well-drained, fertile soil
- Enrich soil with compost and a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to enhance blooming potential

Watering Specifics:

- Water plants thoroughly to establish, then maintain a consistent watering schedule to keep soil evenly moist
- Reduce watering frequency during cooler months but do not allow soil to completely dry out

Fertilizer Type:

- Feed with a high-potassium fertilizer monthly during the growing season to support flower production
- Stop fertilizing by the end of summer to help plants harden off for winter

Pruning and Training:

- Deadhead spent blooms to promote continuous flowering

fall mum

The size of the plant was a little surprising I think only cause I'm so used to buying large ones from the hardware store, but this plant bloomed all fall and into winter. Never grew bigger but well see if another pops up this fall. Lovely.

Belgium Mums

I recently purchased some Belgian mums from Grow Joy. They arrived in excellent condition and I planted them soon after their arrival. They are thriving in their new environment and are just loaded: with lots of buds. I anxiously look forward to when they bloom in the next few weeks. They should put on a spectacular show and I will order more next Spring.
