Burpee’s Big Boy Tomato is a high-yielding producer of large red fruits with a full rich flavor that is hard to beat. The 10-16-ounce tomatoes have smooth, blemish free skins and the plant has good disease resistance.

Our Burpee Big Boy Tomato Plants are grown with a commitment to natural methods, ensuring they're healthy and robust. Guaranteed to arrive alive and thriving!

Planting Instructions:

- Transplant after danger of frost has passed
- Soil temperature should be at least 60°F

Soil Preparation:

- Ideal soil pH: 6.0-6.8
- Add compost or well-rotted manure (best done in the fall)

Watering Specifics:

- Water deeply and regularly
- Avoid wetting leaves to prevent disease

Fertilizer Type:

- Use a balanced 5-5-5 fertilizer or our recommended Espoma Tomato Tone at planting

Pruning and Training:

- Removing suckers is optional
- Stake or cage plants for support

Tomatoes

Highly recommend this company. I ordered many tomato plants from Growjoy! All arrived in excellent condition and each plant was in a separate sturdy plastic container. I repotted into slightly larger containers and kept in greenhouse for a couple weeks until planting in raised bed and pots on April 30. Plants tripled in size and stems thick and leaves green with no spots. I highly recommend this company. Do not worry about negative posts in 2021 as they must have been short handed and problems due to covid. They have responded to all my emails and questions. I could not be more pleased with ordering, shipping, customer service and healthy condition of plants.

Big Boy tomato plant

Came a little bent and the potting medium was bone dry. Within 2 hours of planting and giving it a good soaking in the container it was doing fantastic. Has grown great and now, in less than a month, it's producing its first tomatoes.

First Order

This was my first time ordering from this company. Ordering was very simple. Customer service was wonderful. I have not been able to plant because of the cold weather here in northeast Ohio. Normal planting time is usually memorial day weekend in my area. However GrowJoy's shipping schedule for this area is the end of April. Plants arrived in good shape. I just hope they last another three weeks before I can plant outside. I wish they would ship later in my area and I should’ve paid attention to their shipping dates and requested a later date.
