Cherry Brandy Rudbeckia Plants produce large, 3-4-inch maroon colored flowers with darker centers that bloom all summer and into the fall. This Black-eyed Susan variety is best grown as an annual but may self-sow for the next season. They grow best in full sun and well-drained soil. Deadheading will encourage prolific bloom, leaving some of the last seed heads to remain for winter food for seed eating wild birds. Pretty plant but annual or perennial?

Purchased these because the autumn colored rudbeckias purchased a few months ago did so well. I was hoping these would be as robust but I won't know until next year. They were listed as perennials but the writeup says treat them as annuals and of course I didn't read that. I am in zone 6B so I hope they grow big enough to produce seed heads before winter and they reseed for next year.
