Plant Features

Cinderella Asclepias Plants bear large, compact clusters of vanilla-scented flowers that first appear as deeply pink beads, opening with tiny petals a shade or two lighter, and then finishing with wide open pale pink flowers that make the clusters look somewhat lacy. The long-lasting blossoms are perfect for cut flower arrangements. Cinderella swamp milkweed does well in wetter soils. Known to attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds! It is the host plant for the Monarch butterfly.

Planting Instructions:

- Can be planted spring, summer, or fall

Soil Preparation:

- Ideal soil pH: 5.5-7.0
- Prefers moist to wet soil; thrives in loamy or clay soils
- Can tolerate seasonal flooding; ideal for rain gardens or near water features

- Keep soil consistently moist, especially during establishment
- Can tolerate brief periods of drought but prefers wet conditions

Fertilizer Type:

Pruning and Training:

Excellent Asclepias Plants

Lovely!

I bought about 4 of these 2-3 years ago. I got blooms the first season and they are now about 4' tall. I love them. I planted them all close to different Butterfly Bushes so it is like watching a symphony of nature as the butterflies flit back & forth!

strong healthy plant

I ordered 4 Cinderella Asclepias plants for my butterfly garden. As always, I was very impressed with the packaging. The plants were well watered, with a plastic covering so they wouldn't dry out during shipping. They arrived in very good condition, with an impressive root system that was very well developed. The plants were rather tall, between 6 & 8 inches. I had to wait a few days before I planted. They were hardy & that was no problem. They grew to over 2 feet tall in a few months. I didn't get flowers, but I will this year, after researching more on this plant, the flowers appear the 2nd year. It's worth the wait. This is a hardy plant, I will be ordering more this year.

a must have for the butterfly garden

I ordered the Cinderella Incarnata plants last year for my butterfly garden, they arrived in very good condition. The entire container was packed w/a very well developed extensive root system. They were packed w/loving care, well watered & w/a plastic top over each plant to retain moisture during shipping. I didn't expect them to be so tall on arrival, (over 6 inches). They grew like, well, weeds. By the end of last summer, they had grown to over 2 feet tall. A great buy for the money.

Asclepias

I grew the Cinderella Asclepias plant for the butterfies,I heard this was a bad years for them. The plants are about 4 feet tall but no blooms yet. The growth is great looking forward to the blooms.
