  • - A rosemary with a trailing habit
  • - Each Quart Pot contains 1 Lockwood de Forest Rosemary Herb Plant
Plant Features

Lockwood de Forest is a different rosemary as it offers a cascading habit that spreads 6-8 feet and becomes covered with the palest lavender-blue blossoms you will probably ever see on a rosemary plant. It can be used in a myriad of foods and cooking styles. Rosemary grows best in full to part sun locations with moist, well-drained soil. Deer and rabbits tend to avoid it.

Planting Instructions:

  • - Can be planted anytime the soil temperature is above 60F.

Soil Preparation:

  • - Ideal soil pH: 6.0-7.5, prefers well-drained, sandy or loamy soil
  • - Amend soil with gravel or coarse sand to improve drainage if necessary

Watering Specifics:

  • - Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between watering
  • - Overwatering or poor drainage can lead to root rot

Fertilizer Type:

  • - Generally does not require much fertilizer; a light application in spring may be beneficial

Pruning and Training:

  • - Prune regularly to encourage bushy growth and prevent the plant from becoming leggy
  • - Harvest tips as needed for cooking to promote new growth

Additional Pest Management:

  • - Rosemary is generally pest-resistant but watch for mealybugs and spider mites
  • - Use organic pest control methods as needed

Temperature Tolerance:

  • - Rosemary is drought-tolerant once established and can handle moderate cold, but it should be protected from severe frosts

Nice and Healthy

Plants arrived well packed and thriving. Planting had to wait about a week due to weather, but so far so good. This type of Rosemary is difficult to find...you won't get it at the local garden shop. Glad to be able to order online.
