Plant Features

The Louisiana Flash Cajun Hibiscus Plant bears single flowers with overlapping, gently ruffled edges of a striking scarlet-red. The flash is the amazing part, starting with a black throat or eye that seems to explode out of the center in concentric circles fading from black to silver and then spreading further outwards in the form of misty white veins! The bright yellow stamens rising on the scarlet staminal column seems to be the flame that provides the spark. This beautiful plant boasts large 6-7 inch blossoms and a full vigorous habit. These gorgeous flowers grow well in containers or as a beautiful accent in landscape. In northern climates Cajun hibiscus are grown as house plants or annuals. In southern climates these sun loving plants can even be planted close together to form a unique hedge or living privacy wall. These tropical plants thrive in full sun locations. Plants need to be kept well watered, especially in the heat of the summer.
