Malobar Spinach

This is a beautiful plant. I am getting a support for it because it is sending out shoots and twining. Last night I cut off a few leaves that were gigantic and had it with grilled hamburgers. Happy! I am going to make lamb wraps this week. Happier!

Best Crop of the Year!

This isn’t a true spinach, but it grows and tastes much better (it’s an East Asian cultivar that does well in heat and humidity). It has similar texture to spinach with more flavor, and it doesn’t wilt! I grew this plant on a 7” tall squash tunnel and in 6 weeks, it had grown about 20ft total. Very productive crop that has withstood high heat, humidity, and downpours like a champ. This is the star of my garden this year and the spinach salad is incredible. Highly recommended, but make sure you have lots of climbing space! A little trellis won’t do.

Workhorse of a plant!

We are having the hottest, most humid summer, EVER, here in Georgia, and the Malabar Spinach in unfazed. Great substitute for regular spinach and just keep producing!

Trying something new

I had never heard of this type of spinach. However, since I grow all my veggies in pots and love spinach, it seemed like a perfect match! The plant arrived quickly, in creative packaging, and looked healthy. I think it’s already grown some!

Nice plant ships well

These spinach plants seem to do really well, even in harsh shipping conditions. For my first shipment it was very hot and there was a UPS glitch. Other plants in order didn't survive (GrowJoy made good on this) but the spinach came through fine. Second order, an unusual cold snap, but the spinach was still fine.
