Our Polar Gold® Arborvitae Plant is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® selection. This Wintergreen evergreen features spring green foliage tinted glowing yellow at the tips. It grows much faster than other gold varieties and is highly resistant to wind burn, so we expect Polar Gold to become a favorite for residential landscape design. The finely textured foliage flushes all over with a pleasant golden glow; Polar Gold would make a stunning hedge or privacy screen. 

Planting Instructions:

• - Can be planted anytime the soil temps are 60F

Soil Preparation:

• - Ideal soil pH: 6.0-8.0, adaptable to a range of soil types, prefers moist, well-drained soil
• - Amend soil with compost or peat moss to improve drainage and fertility

Watering Specifics:

• - Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system
• - Once established, they are somewhat drought tolerant but benefit from occasional deep watering during dry spells

Fertilizer Type:

• - Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to promote healthy growth
