The Prince Pennisetum (Fountain Grass) Plant, commonly called Elephant Ears, is a semi-dwarf variety with a more vigorous growing habit than others. When first becoming established, the slender, pointed leaves will emerge with a purple midrib running down the middle of a purplish-green blade. As it matures, though, the true magic happens and the leaves will emerge from the top-middle whorl of the plant an absolutely gorgeous shade of purple that becomes even more intense as the summer heat intensifies.
