It's been horribly hot here, and this poor plant was on the delivery truck for an entire day, and who knows what before it got here. It was pretty bedraggled when I got it out of the box, so it got a drink of water right away and spent the night in my relatively cool laundry room, planted in a pot the next morning. It was also quite a bit smaller than I expected. However, it seems to be doing fine on my front porch in partial sun, and even has a bud, so maybe it will exceed my expectations.

So very pleased with the Double Red Rose plant!! It arrived not just intact and healthy (quart size), but had several blooms and buds already!! I planted it the next day and it has been in for about a week now. It currently has four blooms and more buds waiting their turn. I love roses, but debated whether to try them or not - the deer population in my area (San Antonio) are very aggressive garden thieves. I'm trying to keep them at bay by planting my new rose plants in the middle of plants that the deer do not like. Fingers crossed!
