They are a mainstay in cutting gardens (flowers last up to 4 weeks) and rock gardens. Butterflies are attracted while deer and rabbits tend to stay away.

Our Leucanthemum (Shasta Daisy) Plants are carefully grown without harmful pesticides, making them a safe and cheerful addition to your garden. Guaranteed to arrive healthy and ready to thrive!

Planting Instructions:

  • - Best planted in spring or fall for optimal root establishment
  • - Space plants 18-24 inches apart to allow for mature growth

Soil Preparation:

  • - Ideal soil pH: 6.0-7.0
  • - Prefers well-drained soil but tolerates average garden soil

Watering Specifics:

  • - Water thoroughly when first planted, keeping soil consistently moist until established
  • - Once established, water during dry periods, allowing the soil to dry between waterings

Fertilizer Type:

  • - Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring to encourage healthy growth and abundant blooms
  • - Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to floppy growth

Pruning and Training:

  • - Deadhead regularly to promote continuous blooming throughout the season
  • - Cut back stems to ground level in late fall to prepare for next season's growth

Additional Pest Management:

  • - Leucanthemum is generally pest-resistant but may attract aphids and leaf miners; monitor and treat if necessary
  • - Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal issues like powdery mildew

Blooming Indicators:

  • - Blooms from early summer through fall with classic white, daisy-like flowers featuring bright yellow centers

Temperature Tolerance:

  • - Hardy in USDA zones 4-9, tolerates both heat and mild frost

Companion Plants for Leucanthemum:

  • - Echinacea: Complements Leucanthemum with its vibrant, daisy-like blooms in pinks and purples
  • - Salvia: Provides vertical spikes of blue or purple that contrast well with Leucanthemum’s white flowers
  • - Coreopsis: Offers a bright display of yellow flowers that pairs beautifully with Shasta Daisies
  • - Achillea: Complements Leucanthemum with its delicate clusters of flowers and pollinator appeal
  • - Rudbeckia: Adds bold, yellow daisy-like blooms that enhance the cheerful display of Leucanthemum

So pretty!

I should start by saying I've never liked daisies. When I saw these unique, frilly flowers, though, I knew I had to have them in my flowerbed. It was late in the season to be putting in new plants, but I took a chance. My plant arrived in perfect shape, just minutes before I had to leave to go out of state for several days. That meant I couldn't give it its recommended daily waterings. Despite its initial abandonment to the heat and drought, the plant not only survived, but also went on to bud and bloom, and I absolutely love it! The petals are yellow when they first open, then turn to white. Both are lovely. I highly recommend the Real Charmer, even to people who may shy away from daisies.

growing slowly

Arrived alive and planted the next day. Have grown some but all leaves so far and low to the ground. I thought this was like a daisy but doesn't appear to be. I just hope it actually grows gets tall and makes the pretty flowers I saw on the website.
