Red Sails Lettuce Plants are fast growing, slow to bolt and heat-tolerant. A superb addition to salads and a pretty garnish, Red Sails grows up to 12-inches across on open, frilly heads. The ruffled and heavily fringed leaves emerge light green with crimson edges, maturing to darker green with the red color becoming closer to merlot and sometimes encompassing the entire leaf. Holding its color, crispness and nice mild taste throughout the season, Red Sails is also resistant to tip-burn. An AAS winner!
