Plant Features

The Silver Scrolls Heuchera Plant has been described as enchanting and we must agree. Known to attract hummingbirds, this Alumroot's foliage changes color throughout the seasons, depending upon the ever-changing intensity of light. In springtime the leaves are a grape-purple with a gauzy-looking silvery frosting. In the winter, the leaves turn a rich reddish-violet. Insignificant white flowers open from pink buds in summer. A good grower that performs best in moist, well-drained soil.

Our Heuchera Plants are carefully cultivated without harmful pesticides, making them a safe and striking addition to your garden. Guaranteed to arrive healthy and ready to thrive!

Planting Instructions:

  • - Plant in spring or fall for best results
  • - Space plants 12-18 inches apart to allow for mature growth and air circulation

Soil Preparation:

  • - Ideal soil pH: 6.0-7.0
  • - Prefers well-drained, humus-rich soil with good organic matter

Watering Specifics:

  • - Water deeply when first planted, allowing the soil to dry between waterings
  • - Once established, Heuchera is relatively drought-tolerant but performs best with consistent moisture

Fertilizer Type:

  • - Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring
  • - Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can reduce leaf color intensity

Pruning and Training:

  • - Remove spent flower spikes to tidy the plant and encourage new blooms
  • - Cut back damaged or dead foliage in late winter or early spring to promote fresh growth

Additional Pest Management:

  • - Heuchera is generally pest-free but can occasionally attract vine weevils; monitor and treat if needed
  • - Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal diseases like powdery mildew

Blooming Indicators:

  • - Blooms from late spring through summer, with delicate, bell-shaped flowers on slender stems

Temperature Tolerance:

  • - Hardy in USDA zones 4-9, tolerates both heat and cold conditions

Companion Plants for Heuchera:

  • - Hosta: Complements Heuchera’s foliage with bold, contrasting leaves
  • - Astilbe: Adds soft, feathery blooms that pair beautifully with Heuchera’s textured leaves
  • - Ferns: Provides a lush, green backdrop to Heuchera’s colorful foliage
  • - Brunnera: Offers heart-shaped leaves that contrast with Heuchera’s form
  • - Echinacea: Adds height and vibrant color that pairs well with Heuchera’s foliage

nice size plant

The plant appeared to be a nice size but the root system wasn't very big so I am keeping it in the pot for a while before transplanting to garden.

Please let us know how the plant is doing. GrowJoy

Silver Scrolls Heuchera Plant

Silver Scrolls is a hard working plant. It has produced many new leaves and makes a beautiful neat mounded plant. The leaf color and designs are so beautiful. Great plant to have in the garden.
