Sweetie tomatoes are garden favorites, adored for their small, sugary fruits that burst with irresistible flavor. This open-pollinated variety yields bright red cherry tomatoes typically weighing 0.5 to 1 ounce, with smooth, firm skin—perfect for snacking, salads, or garnishes. The flesh is juicy and tender, delivering an exceptionally sweet tomato taste with high sugar content that’s a hit with kids and adults alike.

Why grow Sweetie? This indeterminate plant produces abundant clusters of 12 to 20 fruits through the season, known for its vigorous growth and reliable yields since its introduction decades ago. While it lacks broad disease resistance beyond occasional cracking tolerance, its intense sweetness and prolific nature make it a cherished choice for gardeners seeking a classic cherry tomato that thrives until frost.

Grown naturally and pesticide-free, our Sweetie starter plants arrive healthy and ready to flourish in your garden. Nurtured with care, they promise a plentiful harvest of these delightful, candy-like tomatoes that brighten every bite.

Sweetie tomato plant

I have purchased these several times from Grow Joy. I plant them in a pot because I live in senior housing. I cannot tell you how many tomatoes I enjoyed last summer. I'm planting them again this summer I highly recommend any plant from this company.
