Planting Instructions:

  • - Transplant during any frost-free period when temperatures remain above 45°F

Soil Preparation:

  • - Ideal soil pH: 6.0-7.0

Watering Specifics:

  • - Water consistently, keeping soil moist but not waterlogged

Fertilizer Type:

  • - Right after transplanting: Use a fertilizer with a higher middle number (phosphorus) to encourage strong root growth. A 12-24-12 formula is ideal, but if that’s not available, look for something like 10-20-10 or 11-22-11. Apply 1 teaspoon per plant, keeping it at least 2 inches away from the stem to prevent root burn.
  • - 7, 14, and 21 days after transplanting: Switch to a fertilizer with a higher first number (nitrogen) to support leafy growth. A 20-10-10 blend is best, but if you can’t find it, look for something similar where the first number is the highest, like 18-9-9 or 21-11-11. Use 1–3 teaspoons per plant, adjusting based on the plant’s health.
  • - Additional option: Apply Neptune’s Fish and Seaweed as a foliar spray to provide extra nutrients and boost plant vigor.

Pruning and Training:

  • - No pruning necessary

Pollination:

  • - Not necessary for leaf production

Additional Pest Management:

  • - Watch for aphids and slugs

Pretty lettuce

It's hard to find greens this time of year but I didn't want to fool with growing from seed right now. Clients like immediate results when I plant their gardens. GrowJoy is a perfect vendor for me!

Growing Good in Florida

I like the way this lettuce forms a head. It is growing good in this Florida heat. Can't wait to see it mature. Should be ready to harvest in about 2 weeks.

Wonderful delivery

This came well packed. Two days after I planted this, we had a tropical storm and most of my garden got wind scorched. Not this lettuce... looks very healthy and I look forward to harvesting soon.
