I like gardening in the Fall because it’s not too hot and humid and the roots have a better chance to develop before hot weather sets in.  Stronger roots equals stronger plant.

My season starts in May when I participate in the Master gardeners plant sale and buy most of my plants. We have a great growing season here in SE Washington state from late April till early November.
I picked the last of my tomatoes and tromboncini squash today.

I like the spring the best. I like how everything starts turning green and waking up from their long winter's nap. The grass stretches to the sky, the trees bud up and leafs emerge. And the flowers add the crowning touch, blossoms of yellow, pink, red, green!! Every color of the rainbow!!

Late spring, like the 3rd/4th week of May. Here in Vermont, planting too soon can cost you with a late frost morning which we always get in May. The apple growers hate this but it's always a possibility. This late planting sucks as Vermont summers are short, 3 months max. Indoor April planting helps, it's what I do with my summer picotee begonia displays. Wi th petunia's, there's no need as they're quick growers, especially trailing petunias! But I always look forwards to May as it's time to get my hands dirty. LOL

Cheers,
Robin

Oh my ... what a question! Anytime is a great time to garden! I think I was born with green thumbs and dirt under my fingernails (:-) I used to have a large full-time garden on 2 acres. But now that old age has gotten my full-time attention, I live in an apartment (boo, hiss). So, it's a real blessing to even be able to garden from my patio most of the year. Yes, thank God for small Blessings!
BTW: the Red Robin and Lizzano tomatoes are great container varieties.

Summer, naturally, that's when all of vegetables are ripening and the flowers are blooming. I also do love the cool nights and the falling leaves of Autumn
